Do you know why Teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th September? What was the main reason behind celebrating Teacher’s day in India?

Teacher’s day is celebrated on birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a believer of education, scholar, the President of India and above all, a teacher.

When some of his students and friends reached to him to celebrate his birthday he said “instead of celebrating my birthday it would be proud privilege for me to celebrate 5th September as Teacher’s day and contribution made by every teacher”. From then onwards 5th September is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in India as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by every teacher to the society.

On Friday, 1st September 2017, Nilaya ICATS Institute celebrated Teachers day with great enthusiasm. The event was held at Nilaya ICATS Institute of Commerce under the guidance of Founder CA Nilay Mehta Sir, Director Smitesh Shah Sir and Mrs.Payal Mehta. Our Director Mr.Smitesh Shah lit the lamp and began the program.

Students from Accounts, Finance, and Commerce department participated in Teachers Day event. The event was completely organized by students and it was great experience for teachers as well as for students.

As we say Career bhi Jindagi bhi, this celebration of teacher’s day contained activities such as dances, singing, speech and drama. Students took part in the celebration actively. All teachers enjoyed the celebration and gave some valuable inputs to the students. Experienced faculties of Nilaya ICATS Institute of Commerce guided students on various aspects of profession, career and life. It helped students to understand their life goals and career value. In the end students felicitated the teachers with handmade greetings.

This event was truly remarkable. It showcased that Nilaya ICATS Institute of Commerce not only focuses on teaching & training but also gives ample opportunities for students to participate in events, develop their interpersonal skills, organizational skills, communication skills, confidence and overall personality development.
